Network Marketing Secrets – How To Get Your Prospects Leaning Forward Ready to Buy!
There’s so much to learn!
I just don’t have the time!
Can I really do this?
Will you help me?
Maybe you have heard statements like these or something similar when talking to prospects. These are legitimate questions and concerns, wouldn’t you say?
In talking to a prospective client recently, she had many concerns about signing on the dotted line. With only a few hours a week to work the business, she wanted a 1, 2, 3 step by step plan. I was grateful we could strategize with team members and draw up a feasible business plan that would fit in her life style.
There are so many ways to work a Network Marketing business. A couple years ago I arrived at the place where I was through with approaching friends and neighbors, having home meetings, entering floats in parades, passing out my business cards, etc. Maybe you have done some of the same things or worse. When I found a system that I could work on line, I knew I’d just found gold!
Recently, I have been exposed to some great training on marketing skills that are causing me to once again re-think belly to belly marketing. I attended a Tom (Big Al) Schreiter Workshop and laughed for 3 hours listening about how learning a few skills could propel your business right over the top! If Tom (Big Al) Schreiter is in your area, be sure to attend. You will be so glad you did!
He made it sound so fun and easy schmeezy. Of course, these skills have to be worked at, developed and practiced. The specific sequence of words need to be honed and perfected so they flow off our tongue naturally.
After all we have been network marketing since we were little kids! As adults we share what we think is great to whoever will listen whether it is a awesome movie we just viewed, a great restaurant where we ate succulent shrimp, the grocery store with the best buys, our favorite TV show, our latest yummy chocolate recipe, a powerful personal development book….the list can go on and on.
The secret is to not be obnoxious but instead to get your prospect where they are leaning forward on the edge of their seat listening. The secret is learning the right things to say. His magic sequence of words worked quite well on me, as I left the workshop with his whole set of training cds under my arm. And funny thing, my friend, who at the beginning of the workshop said she wasn’t going to buy anything……..well, you guessed it…she walked out with all the training in her bag too. You can find his trainings at www.FortuneNow.com.
It’s about the skills and the confidence you develop through repetition. It helps to Master Mind with people who also practice the same ways and offer tips and ideas on how to do things better or different.
Bottom line is…….get good at a couple marketing strategies at first. When you have developed those skills take on something new. Before you know it your Network Marketing skills will be something you can share with others, touching their lives. That’s the biggest reward. It’s not always so much about what you are getting, but what you are becoming in the process.
Now get to practicing.

Lynn I didn’t know where you were going with this post but I was going to say the offline stuff works to and very well. It’s like you implied it’s situational and there is an appropriate way to do it.
I have read a book by one of mentee’s Success In 10 Steps awesome book and have listened to some of the audio.
Not affiliated with the program but some really great training there that is for sure.

Hi Lynn,
I am a veteran network marketer, I have been with my company for 16 years.
The key is to get the person into action right away.
Daily activity and accountability.
We have a eight week training program and you cannot go to the next step until you have completed the previous one.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Lynn,
Great post on the importance of marketing which is the most vital ingredient to growing your business whether it’s online or offline. The key is daily action, the right action, thats business related. I work with people that are doing all the online activities but haven’t grown their business. Being on Facebook or Twitter doesn’t mean much if you’re not growing your biz.
Thanks for sharing this important topic.

Very well expressed Lynn. I worked with a lot of recruiters when I was in direct sales, and from that experience I’d only add that it’s about listening more than talking, and learning how to ask the right questions to guide the person to a point of becoming very clear about “why” they might want to make extra money, have their own business, etc.

Hi Marquita,
I’ve downloaded the free ebook but I was already having something that was working for me but I found it very valuable. I know there’s much more if you get the system and I really don’t know that much about it but you do need to put in time and an abundance mindset. If people have the motivation and learn everything there is to know with the 3 step system and apply it they will no doubt become a better person in business. (There are successful and unsuccessful people in every business) But I don’t think the value comes from how much you make off selling the system. I think the value comes from how you apply it for your bigger business plan. Thanks for sharing some great info on moving to new levels in business. There are very successful people in that system but it will take a lot of commitment and failures just like the top leaders went through since there’s so much involved in creating a successful home business long term. Nobody knows how good it can be unless you buy it though. I like your advice…Should be worth the money if people use it right and understand what you have to do to really leverage it correctly. Thanks Marguita

Hi Lynn,
My first experience with networking was with Amway….and that seems like a 100 years ago.
My present company is an internet based business and they do not have hotel meetings..in home presentations etc…
I thought this is just what I want…no more people contact just send them to the website and the “system” will take care of the rest.
People do not join companies they join people …no matter how good a system you may have we as netwotkers will always need to talk to people ..build relationships and get to know our prospects.
Great Post.
Cheers

Very true Bryan! People join the ones they know, like and trust! I love how we can learn from all our experiences and how they mold and make us who we are today.
I appreciate your comments!
Blessings to you!

I am not into network marketing. I tried it before but didn’t develop the skills for it. The training you attended by Tom (Big Al) Schreiter sounds good. I can see how practicing specific sequence of words can be helpful, especially for people like me who do not feel confident in selling. I like your way of thinking when you say “It’s not always so much about what you are getting, but what you are becoming in the process”.

Hi Lynn,
the first sentence of this post should have been “Dear Kevin,”! lol
It really hit home for me. I have had a lot of the same thoughts recently and I like how you keep an open mind and are willing to learn new things…. and take action on them.
Thanks for sharing this post… really helpful!

Hi Kevin, If we are not open about learning new things, I don’t think we will grow very much. It’s only stepping outside of our comfort zone that we are stretched. Then we grow. It’s not always pleasant at the time, but afterward we are so glad we pushed ourselves.
I appreciate you visiting my page.

Hi Lynn. I liked it when you said ‘skills and confidence acquired from repetition.’ As a music teacher, I know that in order to play a piece well in public, a student needs to develop skills and confidence by lots of repetition. However, they can’t repeat just anything – they have to repeat what is right, or it is negative practice. Although I’m not yet an experienced marketer, it seems the same principles can be applied to marketing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Wishing you a song in your heart,

I agree Leslie, Practice makes perfect whether in music lessons or network marketing. I think I am doing better at network marketing than I did at practicing piano! lol
Have a melodic day!
Lynn
I have yet to attend a Tom (Big Al) Schreiter Workshop but it definitely sounds like a lot of fun.
I like that you bring up repetition and that it’s required in order for us to get good at something. This is something that many, many people don’t get a grasp of. They expect to be in the expert status just because they’ve learned something new, but what they don’t acknowledge is that it takes many tries, mistakes, and failures before they really become great at it.
And that is the exact reason you mention, “The specific sequence of words need to be honed and perfected so they flow off our tongue naturally.”
I absolutely concur
Keep up the great content Lynn!

Hi Jaclyn, Yes Big Al’s Workshops are so fun. I chuckled the whole evening. I agree with you it does take time. We must be willing to step outside our comfort zone because that is when we grow. It does not happen overnight, but if we stick with it we will get where we want to be.
Have a wonderful day!

Hi Lynn
Big Al has done some of the best training in our industry on connecting with our prospects. Sometimes I think we make this all too hard. Learning a few simple things and practicing those over and over will make a person a skilled champion faster in this business. When you run around and listen to every guru who will hand you the keys to riches, that’s where the money flow can stop. The business skills are in WHO you BECOME …you said it!!

Big Al is great to listen to, but I think he has found a way that it totally natural and right for his personality. This is where everybody should get. It has to be authentic. It should be as easy as inviting a friend to coffee.
Nicole Rushin recently posted..Packing It Up in the Gloaming
Nicole, That is so very true. And for some it takes a great while to find that authenticity so that it comes off very natural and genuine. And just like anything, the more we do something the easier it comes.
Bless you!

Lynn,
One of the problems I have had with network marketing is that it can feel incongruent with my main work, which is counseling individuals and couples to have better relationships and better lives. But part of my work also involves health and healing. That is why it can be difficult for me to share with people I meet or work with. But I can more easily share products at the back of the room at a live event or on my web site. I guess if I find a product that works wonders for me personally, I will be more inclined and more enthusiastic about sharing it freely.

Dr. Erica,
That is so interesting! I can relate to what you said. I find I am more content to be in the observer in the background and only share when I feel it is a divine appointment, if you know what I mean. I sure don’t want to appear pushy.
Bless you!
Lynn
Hello Lynn,
Even though I am not involved in network marketing, your article strikes a chord on different levels, let alone the need to share, take actions and act with enthusiasm.
What has always impressed me about this industry is the ability to learn from others who have been there and done that and are always willing to help out.
Thank you for your insight.
Keep the smiles,

Hi Stevie,
Yes, that is one thing about this industry….the willingness to share, add value and to help others as we go along on our journey. I’ve been helped by so many, so it is only natural to return the favor to someone else who needs assistance.
Stop by again!

Hi Lynn
I know most people believe the only way to market and prospect is online that’s why they neglect offline. I think offline may not be as popular as it once way before the internet. I mean sure its not as easy to reach as many people or even have people find you while you sleep as it is using the internet but in person at least do a face to face and even talk a bit to the prospect etc.
There are some “gurus” out there who do offline very well, although I have never tried it some can try it as a break from the online daily grind.
Hi CJ, I appreciate your comments. I believe as we grow and stretch ourselves we branch out and try different things. Ya know, we can’t do it all at once. So if we start taking a bite at a time, we will eventually be well rounded network marketers!
It is amazing how when we develop a few key skills in marketing and sakes the rest follows naturally!
Andy, Very true. All we need is a few skills practiced over and over again to gain confidence.
Lynn,
Great info! I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone that can get a Big Al workshop to get there! He is well worth every mile you travel and every minute you have to sit and enjoy his expertise! I have learned so much from him and my business is flourishing because of it! Thanks for sharing Lynn!
